How do you determine the size of your "life-size" silhouettes?
We use the average height for the estimated age of the person in the silhouette and make slight adjustments. By using this method all 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% life-size persons match each other respectively and can be used together on the same wall or surface.
Why are your products not more expensive? Where are you cutting corners?
We are not cutting corners. We pride ourselves in offering a superior product at the lowest price we can. We have an extremely efficient operation. Quality doesn't always have to cost a lot.
If I remove a wall silhouette will it damage my wall?
Removable vinyl can be peeled off. We have never known of a single case
when our product has caused wall damage. However, we cannot guarantee there will never be a problems nor be
responsible for damage: use at your own risk.
Permanent vinyl could cause damage to fragile walls.
Do you offer custom sized silhouettes?
Yes, just contact us and let us know what size you would like.
How big can you make a decal?
Single piece decals can be up to 8 x 4 feet (2.4x1.2 meters). Larger decals can be divided up into sections that size. Really there is no limit on how big we can make a decal. 8 x 4 foot sections can be placed together to create enormous images.
What is the difference between removable and permanent vinyl?
Generally, our silhouettes are made of removable vinyl which is easier to apply, work with, and lasts for many, many years in an indoor setting. It sticks very well, but can be removed if necessary. Permanent vinyl has a waterproof, permanent adhesive
and is difficult to remove. Permanent vinyl is glossy and removable vinyl matte. We recommend indoor vinyl for most situations, but if your decals will be outdoors or in public areas subject to abuse you may need permanent vinyl. Appropriate situations may include a high traffic area, or an area, such as a daycare, where young children may attempt to peel the decals off. If you need permanent vinyl just type "PERMANENT" in the Silhouette Decal Color box when you order.
How will my product arrive?
Your decals will arrive ready to apply. The vinyl decal will be sandwiched between the backing paper and the
transfer tape. Every order also comes with application instructions and a practice decal.
Can I use my decals outside on a sign, car or boat?
Yes, but be sure to designate you want permanent vinyl.
How long will it take to get my order?
About 5-10 business days (in the U.S.). Rush orders are available.
How do I apply my decal?
Applying your decal is quite easy. All you have to do is peel off the backing paper, stick the decal on a clean smooth surface and then peel off the transfer

Can my custom silhouette be exactly life-size?
Absolutely, we will cut the silhouette to match exact dimensions--and it is easy--just let us know how tall you want it and the other dimensions will be
automatically adjusted to be proportionate to the height
Can I overlap decals?
Absolutely. The vinyl is so thin, you can easily overlap decals for special effects.
How should I store my decal until I am ready to use it?
Vinyl silhouettes in storage should be left on the original backing paper in a closed box. The backing paper must be kept dry to avoid expansion.
What is the difference between a decal and a sticker?
For us, there is no difference. We use the terms interchangeably.
What type of surfaces will my custom decals adhere to?
Your decals will stick to most clean smooth surfaces. Textured, rough or uneven surfaces
are not recommended (i.e. textured walls, stucco, cinder block, brick, etc.). Some of our most popular uses have been on walls, doors, artist canvas
(which must be painted first), windows, glass and mirrors, metal, sign boards, painted wood, plastic, decorative plates, picture
frames (directly on the glass or on the backing), and on cars. Our decals stick to some kinds of cloth but not very well. Test your destination surface with our removable practice graphic (included with every order) to make sure it works well.
How do I remove my vinyl decal?
Removing your decal is simple: with tweezers or your fingernail, grab the corner of the decal and gently
pull it off at an angle. If needed, the decal can be warmed up with a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive.
Are your vinyl decals reusable?
Sometimes, it depends on what type of surface it was first applied to. If the decal adhesive remains clean and is not too old, the decal can be careful peeled off and placed on another surface or stored on the original backing paper. Decals made of permanent vinyl are not reusable.
What type of photo do I need to send in for a custom silhouette?
Most digital camera photos work great! Please send us the original file from your camera (the largest version of the photo). Some computer programs, such as Picasa, shrink photos for emailing. A full-size digital picture should be at least 1 megabyte (1000K). Mobile phone cameras usually do not take high enough quality pictures. I'm not sure which photo is the best, can I send more than one?
Yes, feel free to let our experienced design team help you select the photo that will make the best silhouette.
How do I submit my custom silhouette photo(s)?
After you purchase your silhouette(s), email your photo(s) to 
with your desired silhouette size and any special instructions.
What if my photo has somebody else in it that I do not want to include
in my silhouette?
No problem, when you email us your photo, make note of any special instructions.
Will you make a silhouette from any photo?
No, we reserve the right to reject copyrighted, sensual, pornographic, or controversial silhouette orders at our discretion.
Can I use a picture that is not digital?
Yes, scan it (with your scanner on its highest resolution setting) and email us an electronic copy.
Can I mail a photo in?
No, we only accept photos emailed to us.
Will my "life-size" decal come in one piece?
Yes, in most cases. All of our decals 8 x 4 feet or smaller are a single, one-piece decals. Larger decals are broken into 2 or more pieces designed to go together.
What if I ruin my custom silhouette?
Once a custom silhouette is created, re-cuts are relatively inexpensive. Simply purchase an "Additional Copy" (found on the product's page) large enough to cover your desired silhouette size then email and let us know you want another copy.
Can I get a duplicate silhouette at a later date?
Yes, we usually keep your image on file for at least one year from the date it was cut.
Why don't you offer smaller custom silhouettes?
Your custom silhouette can be any size up to the size limit you purchase. Most of our cost is in the creation of the silhouette (it's harder than you may think) not the material. For this reason the smallest custom silhouette we offer is "up to" 36 x 22 inches. Simply let us know what size you want it when you email us your photo(s). Duplicate custom silhouettes are available in smaller sizes and are less expensive.
What is your return policy?
We create custom art to the specifications of our customers. For this
reason we do not allow returns.
